The following are additional advantages for the families of the abducted and missing:

Annual convalescence grant

An annual convalescence grant (for 8 days of convalescence) of NIS 3,592 (for each of the eligible persons).

 Who is eligible for an annual convalescence grant?

  • Spouse of abducted/absent person receiving ongoing benefits.
  • Parents of abducted/missing persons receiving ongoing benefits.
  • Children whose parents are missing or abducted, over the age of 18, who receive ongoing benefits.

How does one receive a grant?

The grant is paid automatically and transferred to the eligible person's bank account along with the June benefit.

Loans for personal needs and special expenses

  • Spouse and parents may be eligible for loans to help finance the marriage of a a son/daughter and Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
  • The spouse, parents and children whose parents are missing or abducted can also get a loan for personal needs, once every three years.

How does one receive loans?

To check eligibility for loans, contact the rehabilitation worker at a branch close to your place of residence. You can also contact us through the website.

Assistance in covering debts

The parents, spouse and children whose parents are missing or abducted who are in debt as a direct result of the disaster or have difficulty coping with financial commitments that preceded it, or whose rehabilitation has failed and have debts related to their business – can apply for assistance, up to three years from the date of the abduction/missing.

Participation in phone installation and use fees

Installing or transferring a phone line

Parents  are entitled to a one-time refund of 50% of the fees for installing or transferring a phone line in their private apartment.
Refund amount: Up to NIS 206 for installation fee. Up to NIS 48 for transferring a phone line.
For a refund for phone installation fees, contact the Hostile Actions Casualties Department at the branch nearest to your place of residence, along with a tax invoice or original receipt. You can also contact us through the website.

A spouse is not entitled to a participation in phone installation or transfer fees.

Participation grant for telephone use

The spouse, parents and children whose parents are both missing or abducted will receive an annual refund of NIS 293 (as of January 2023) for participating in phone use. The refund is automatically paid once a year, with the January benefit.
